It turns out a Windows tablet may finally be able to give the Chromebook a run for their money. Recently, ASUS announced the EeeBook X205 laptop at IFA 2014 in Berlin. Asus EeeBook X205 features a 11.6-inch display sporting a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels, and comes with Windows 8.1 with Bing.

The notebook is powered by an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, with 2GB of RAM on board. There’s 32/64 GB SSD storage options, a microSD card reader, micro HDMI port, and 2 USB 2.0 ports, 802.11n WiFi, and a 38Whr battery which can provide users with a battery time of up to eight hours.

The laptop is extremely portable and weighs less than 1KG so people who tend to travel a lot may find it to be an attractive option. Additionally, there’s a full-fledged keyboard, and comes with a trackpad which is 36 percent larger then the usual ASUS trackpads. Additionally, it comes with support for Smart Gesture technology so that it can make use of Windows 8.1 touch gestures.

As far as the availability is concerned, the laptop will hit retail in the US and Europe for $199 beginning November, and will be available in four color options: black, white, gold, and red.
