Microsoft is rolling out the March firmware updates to the Surface Laptop 4. The firmware update brings some improvements for the popular Microsoft clamshell laptop. Here’s a look at what you need to know.

In total, you should see four updates listed in Windows Update for the AMD Surface Laptop 4. The updates will show up listed as Surface Firmware, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. – Display, Surface Extension, and AMD System. The four updates brings some graphics stability and performance changes, as well as improved battery life, and support for the Surface Dock 2. Other than that, there’s nothing changed.

Microsoft is also rolling out a firmware update for the Surface Studio 2 as well. There are three total updates for the all-in-one Microsoft PC, two of which are Surface Firmware, and a third is for Intel System. These just cover security vulnerabilities and system stability, with no other changes.

Microsoft already rolled out a firmware update to the Intel version of the Surface Laptop 4 back on March 3, so today’s update won’t apply to you if you have that device.
