Age of Empires: Castle Siege video game is finally coming to Android

Age of Empires: Castle Siege has finally been announced for release on Android platforms after almost two years of running on Windows and iOS smartphones.

“Android Users will soon be able to join the battle with the 4.7 million Windows and iOS fans as Age of Empires: Castle Siege comes to Android Platforms in early March!” reads the announcement on the official Age of Empires: Castle Siege website. “Age of Empires: Castle Siege was developed in Smoking Guns’ proprietary cross platform engine, so no matter what platform you play on, your data is always saved to the cloud, making it easy to pick up and play Castle Siege across Windows platforms, iOS and soon Android devices. Castle Siege has seen great success on the iOS and Windows platform and expanding to the Android platform is part of the long-term plan from the developers to support the game for years to come.”

Age of Empires: Castle Siege is one of the rare video games on iOS that’s also connected to Microsoft’s Xbox Live network. This allows for cross-save between the iOS, Windows phone, and Windows PC versions and also features Xbox Achievements. It’s unclear if the Android version will also have this functionality but it is extremely likely.
