6tag for Windows Phone 8 updated to 3.0, comes with Instagram Direct support and improved design

For those of you who use the 6tag app on Windows Phone 8, there is a new update available for you in the Windows Phone Store. In this new update, 6tag gets an improved and support for Instagram’s Direct Messages feature. 6tag has become a popular third-party Instagram app for the Windows Phone platform, even though Instagram recently released the official app – albeit in Beta.

“6tag is the most full featured Instagram app for Windows Phone. Upload picture and videos on Instagram, apply filters, tag your friends, view posts on a map, and more,” the app description reads. Earlier today, another third-party Instagram app called Pictastic was updated, also adding support for Instagram’s private photo-sharing and messaging feature.

This new app update bumps the version number to 3.0.0.0. Two changes were made in this new version, including an improved design and support for Instagram’s Direct Message. Hit the download link below to force the update and let us know if you notice any other improvements.

Do you prefer 6tag over the official Instagram app?
