While many businesses small and large rely upon cloud based email servers there are still those who need a good on premises solution which they can manage in house. Microsoft has been offering their Exchange Server software for companies who need to run their email servers on their own, and now Exchange Server 2016 has been released as a preview. In the 2016 version, Microsoft is bringing a huge range of improvements and enhancements to ensure none of their customers are left behind.
Few companies offer tools to manage email on premises, and Microsoft is in a unique position as a provider of both high quality cloud based, on premises, and hybrid solutions. Exchange Server 2016 preview contains the latest iteration of Microsoft browser-based Outlook, now called Outlook for the web (no longer Outlook Web App).
With customers on both sides of the cloud, Microsoft is able to take tried and true technologies, which have been tested and proven, and deliver them to all their customers. Technology such as: simplified architecture, improved reliability, new outlook web experience, greater extensibility, faster and more intuitive search, enhanced data loss prevention (DLP), faster and more scalable eDiscovery, auto-expanding archives, hybrid improvements, just to name the big ones.
