Deal alert: Buy a Nokia Lumia 520 for just Rs 6,999

Indian readers have a reason to rejoice. The ever so popular Nokia Lumia 520 handset is now selling at Amazon India for just Rs 6,999 (~116$). Originally priced at Rs 9399, this is without a doubt a great deal.

Nokia Lumia 520 is the most popular Windows Phone till date. The phone sports a 4-inch IPS LCD display, which has a resolution of 480 x 800. The Qualcomm MSM8227 processor clocked at 1GHz, coupled with 512 MB of RAM are able to run the phone quite well. While the phone doesn’t fancy a front facing camera, it does have a sharp 5MP shooter at the back. The 1430 mAh battery can last a day on typical usage.

What’s even more fascinating is that you can run the recently released Windows Phone 8.1 developer preview on this phone as well. Also, although you’re living in India, you can still get Cortana, the digital assistant app from Microsoft running on your phone. Hit the Via link to get to Amazon India’s store page.

Update: Amazon India has hiked the price of Lumia 520 to Rs 7,399. You should check back in sometime, as the price keeps fluctuating all day. Alternatively, you can get the handset for Rs 7,207 from Flipkart. Heck, you can get another Rs 100 discount if you use its recently released Windows Phone app.
