Steve Ballmer will be delivering the company’s final keynote at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show in a live stream taking place Monday, January 9th, at 6:30PM Pacific Time. Microsoft recently decided to drop out of the show after realizing that the company no longer needed the event to showcase new technology.
For those interested in watching the keynote live, it will be available starting at 6:30 p.m. PST, Monday, at Microsoft’s CES PressPass website.
Recently, Microsoft announced plans to drop out of the annual Consumer Electronics Show after 2012. “After thinking about questions like these, we have decided that this coming January will be our last keynote presentation and booth at CES. We’ll continue to participate in CES as a great place to connect with partners and customers across the PC, phone and entertainment industries, but we won’t have a keynote or booth after this year because our product news milestones generally don’t align with the show’s January timing,” Microsoft stated.
Apparently, CES was not needed to announce new Microsoft technology. “As we look at all of the new ways we tell our consumer stories – from product momentum disclosures, to exciting events like our Big Windows Phone, to a range of consumer connection points like Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft.com and our retail stores – it feels like the right time to make this transition.”
