Last year, it was reported that Microsoft was working on an Xbox Game Pass Family Plan designed to enhance the gaming experience for people that have multiple game players in one household.
The plan encourages account sharing among gamers and supports up to 5 members. This means that all 5 members get to enjoy all the Game Pass Ultimate perks under one account. The Xbox Game Pass Family Plan already is already available to gamers in Ireland and Colombia at €21.99 per month.
Microsoft announced that it is now expanding the plan to six more countries, that is, Chile, Hungary, Israel, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sweden. The company further indicated that:
This plan makes it even easier to play the best Game Pass games with friends and family across console, PC, and cloud. You can play at the same time on multiple devices and even play the same game at the same time. Each member can enjoy the library of hundreds of games on console, PC, or cloud (in supported countries).
The company also highlights key requirements that gamers must meet to be eligible for this plan. First up, all members that want to be part of the Xbox Game Pass Family Plan must be residing in the same country. Additionally, once you join the plan, the remaining time on your membership will be converted to time in the new plan. Microsoft will base this upon the monetary value of the old membership.
It should be noted that the conversion won’t be available for invited group members. Furthermore, if you are part of the Xbox All Access program, you aren’t eligible for this plan.
