Ubisoft has confirmed that it deletes accounts it deems “inactive,” in some cases making paid games inaccessible. Understandably the French publisher of Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed and other popular IPs is facing some scrutiny in this policy.
As in the case of this user, Ubisoft may temporarily suspend an account for inactivity, with a 30-day warning period before permanently deleting the account.

Ubisoft has previously said that it does not delete accounts that have been inactive for less than 4 years. Nonetheless, the news has led to another round of online discussion concerning digital content management and accessibility.
Ubisoft has clarified in a statement to Wccftech that accounts with paid PC games are not eligible for deletion. Ubisoft also stressed that it sends three emails to the user in question before an account is deleted. It also states that users can place a ticket with Ubisoft support to recover an account.
