China can finally enjoy a Windows Phone powered smartphone

On an event in Beijing, the Taiwanese manufacturer, HTC announced Wednesday that the company started to sell Windows Phone supported smartphones in China. The company confirmed to be the first to introduce Windows Phone in China with HTC Triumph handset.

As Engadget reports, Microsoft China welcomed the arrival of the handset and introduced Chinese-language interface for the press and phone industry executives. The handset will have 4.7-inch screen display, and front/rear-facing camera. Microsoft China confirmed that the HTC Triumph or Eternity will feature numerous Chinese applications. The handset is said to be unlocked or open market device.

Microsoft said that the company will associate more than four smartphone manufacturers according to TheNextWeb. Nokia is set to launch their Lumia series on March 28. Microsoft’s senior product manager of mobile communications, Greg Sullivan said that Nokia has been a good partner to prioritizing Windows Phone in China. The company also confirmed their partnership with Samsung and ZTE at the event.

Moreover, Nokia is expected to introduce a Chinese variant from its key players Lumia 800 and 719 by the end of March.
