WeChat for Windows Phone

WeChat is a very popular cross-platform messaging application that gives users the ability to interact with each other using text and voice messages. It boasts a user base of over 300 million people. WeChat on Windows Phone already offers all the exciting features that are found on other platforms, including the Walkie Talkie mode, instant messaging, sharing files with friends and more. If you’re using WeChat on your Windows Phone handset, it’s time to check the Windows App Store as WeChat received an update, bumping it to version 5.0 and introducing a couple of new features to the instant messaging application.

The latest WeChat v5 comes with several new animated stickers which can be downloaded from the Sticker Shop that is found inside the application. You can then send these to any contact in your list. Additionally, the application lets users link their email addresses with the application for login retrieval purposes, just in case you forget your password or username. Here’s a list of new features added in the latest WeChat v5.0:

  • Download loads of new animated stickers from the Sticker Shop
  • Save favorite content clippings from chats or Moments.
  • Link your email for easy login and password retrieval

Head over to the Windows Phone Store to snag the application. Let us know in the comments about your thoughts regarding WeChat as a cross-platform application.
