Symantec promises Norton 360 version 6 to be Windows 8 ready

Symantec has revealed that its recently-released Norton 360 version 6 will be compatible with Windows 8 Consumer Preview (Beta). Symantec has promised to make it a priority to have updates released right away to maintain compatibility with Windows 8.

Norton 360 version 6, which was released not too long ago, will feature an update that will be available once the Windows 8 Consumer Preview (Beta) is released. “We’re making it a priority to [do] whatever updates are necessary to maintain compatibility with all Windows 8 beta product builds,” Symantec stated.

Aside from Windows 8 support, Norton 360 version 6 will eat up less resources than before, have automatic error recovery, a new metering capability for bandwidth usage, and cloud sync for Identity Safe (which is the company’s new secure vault for sensitive information such as passwords).

Norton recently released the “Windows 8 beta-enabled” Norton 360 version 6, Norton 360 Everywhere (PC, Mac, and Android), and Norton One (a brand new suite with premium support and telephone hold time guarantee of less than 2 minutes).

Norton 360 version 6 runs for $89 for a three PC license with 2GB online storage and $99 for three PCs with 25GB of online storage.
