Sway has always been a tool for individuals looking to create content in a new and interactive way to help reach their audiences. Due to feedback from the Sway community through UserVoice, you can now share and edit your content with others. In addition, Sway added the ability to co-author projects with people.
All you need to do is share an edit link with someone you want to do a project with or need some editing help. Once they click the link and log in, your Sway will show up on their “My Sways” page. Whether it’s just two people or more, everyone can edit your Sway in real-time and you don’t need to worry about saving your work because Sway will do that for you automatically.
You can keep track of who is editing the Sway and change specific permissions as needed on any particular project. When you are the original owner of a Sway, it’s easy to remove editors on a project or change permissions, plus you can see who is doing what and when, what was moved, deleted, or tweaked. Microsoft was looking for a truly collaborative experience for Office 365 members that use Sway and with these new features, it looks like they are on the right track.
Web versions of Office apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote offer real-time co-authoring and are advancing their capabilities everyday. Sway gets to take advantage of those capabilities and sometime soon Sway will be able to work offline as well. So, keep the suggestions coming and give the Office 365 team more feedback via Sway UserVoice, so that Sway continues to get better.
