Yesterday, EA introduced a new subscription service for Xbox One owners, giving them access to all games from the developers for just $4.99 per month or $29.99 a year. It even comes with 10 percent discount on digital content purchases, as well as access to trial versions of the games ahead of this official release.
It may sound like a good idea to Microsoft, but Sony thinks otherwise. Recently, the Japanese company made a comment about this new program, and said it doesn’t offer a “good value” to PlayStation users. Sony said they also received the EA Access subscription offer, but declined it since it’s of no use for its users. Sony already has its own PlayStation Plus offer available for gamers with a PS4, PS3, and PS Vita.
“PlayStation Plus memberships are up more than 200% since the launch of PlayStation 4, which shows that gamers are looking for memberships that offer a multitude of services, across various devices, for one low price. We don’t think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value to the PlayStation gamer,” Sony said in a statement.
While we can’t be sure if Sony’s decision is a good one or not, but the fact is: it’s not coming to PlayStation any time soon.
