September Patch Tuesday updates are now available for Windows 10 versions 2004 and older

Microsoft has just released new Patch Tuesday updates for all supported versions of Windows 10, including the May 2020 Update (version 2004). If you’re running the latest version of the OS, you can now download the build 19041.508 (KB4571756) which brings the following improvements:

  • Updates to improve security when using input devices (such as a mouse, keyboard, or pen).
  • Updates to improve security when Windows performs basic operations.
  • Updates for storing and managing files.
  • Updates to improve security when using Microsoft Office products.

For those of you still running the November 2019 Update (version 1909) or the May 2019 Update (version 1903), the builds 18362.1082 and 18363.1082 (KB4574727) include a very similar list of fixes, and that also applies to the build 17763.1457 (KB4570333) for the October 2018 Update (version 1809). As a reminder, the latter will lose mainstream support after November 2020, and Microsoft has already started to push the May 2020 Update to these users.

As usual, Microsoft has also released new updates for older versions of Windows 10 today, but these patches are only available for Windows 10 Enterprise and Education users. You can get the full release notes for these updates on this page.
