Rainbow Six Extraction is coming day one to Xbox Game Pass, Ubisoft+ also announced for Xbox platforms

Rainbow Six Extraction, Ubisoft’s upcoming tactical co-op game will be available on Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC, and Cloud on its launch day, January 20, 2022. This is the first time that a high-profile Ubisoft game will join Xbox Game Pass on day one, and Rainbow Six fans should also be pleased to know that Rainbow Six Siege will also join PC Game Pass on January 20 as well.

Ubisoft also announced today that Ubisoft+, the company’s game subscription that’s currently available on PC, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna is coming to Xbox platforms in the future. “Originally launched for PC, the service allows access to more than 100 Ubisoft titles at a single monthly cost, with games and DLC available on launch day, and monthly rewards including cosmetics, boosters, in-game items, and more,” Ubisoft explained today.

Ubisoft+ (previously Uplay+) currently starts at $14.99, which is the same price as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. However, there’s also a multi-access tier at $17.99 that provides access to Ubisoft+ games on Google Stadia and Amazon Luna. It’s possible that Xbox access could be added to that mix, though Ubisoft has yet to confirm it.

Xbox One consoles were the first platform to welcome a game subscription service when EA Access (now EA Play) launched on Xbox One back in 2014. It’s interesting to see Ubisoft follow EA’s footsteps with Ubisoft+ now announced for Xbox platforms, and this should definitely help to make the Xbox ecosystem the best place to play the latest blockbuster games from third-party publishers.
