Outriders is joining Xbox Game Pass for PC on October 19

Outriders, Square Enix’s new loot shooter that launched day one on Xbox Game Pass for Console back in April, is joining Xbox Game Pass for PC tomorrow, October 19. If you previously played the game on Xbox consoles, you’ll also be able to transfer your progress to the Windows version that will be available with Xbox Game Pass for PC.

Launching day one on Xbox Game Pass for Console definitely helped Outriders to enjoy some big momentum earlier this year. As a brand new IP from People Can Fly, a Polish studio that previously worked on Microsoft’s Gears of War series, Outriders received praise for its solid gameplay and immediate support for cross-play multiplayer. It’s still not clear if developer People Can Fly is planning additional DLCs, but the four different classes in Outriders make the loot shooter highly replayable.

Xbox Game Pass for PC may have launched two years ago, it’s still not unusual to see some of the biggest games launch first or exclusively on Xbox Game Pass for Console. That was the case for AAA games like GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, or The Witcher 3, though things are slowly starting to change: We’ve seen this with Destiny 2 and Minecraft finally joining Xbox Game Pass for PC, or new games like Back 4 Blood launching simultaneously on Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC.

If you have yet to try the service, you can get your first month of Xbox Game Pass for PC for just $1 instead of $9.99. The game subscription service currently provides access to over 100 PC games from Microsoft and other developers, and upcoming Xbox Game Studios titles such as Age of Empires IV, Forza Horizon 5, and Halo Infinite will join the catalog on day one. Xbox Game Pass for PC also includes an EA Play for PC membership at no additional cost.
