Windows 10 continues to make headway amongst Steam users, rising to almost a 28% share in October. That’s a slower increase from September, which saw an increase from 17% to 25%, according to Steam.
With Windows 10 on over 120 million machines, and with Steam users likely being early adopters, it’s entirely possible that Windows 10’s progress will continue to be slow and steady from here on out. Windows 7 continues in its #1 position, with over 47% of Steam users running Microsoft’s most popular OS, and that’s likely to remain the case until DirectX 12 is supported by more games.
We’ll be keeping an eye out as Windows 10 gains on Windows 7 as Steam users’ OS of choice.
