National Geographic documents the Mexican Ring of Fire with the Lumia 640 XL

National Geographic has added a Lumia 640 XL to its arsenal of photography gadgets to capture the world with. In a recent expedition to Mexico, National Geographic photographer Stephen Alvarez set out to capture the volcanic landscapes of the country, and the shots taken are nothing short of stunning.

Check out the video below of Nat Geo’s trip to the Mexican Ring of Fire, be sure to view it in all its glory in 1080p or 4K. The video, of course, shot completely on a Lumia 930.

Earlier this year, Nat Geo used a Lumia 930 to capture Victoria Falls, and with the Lumia Denim update installed on the 930, they were able to capture the scenes in 4K video, you can check out that video as well below.

From what we can see, you don’t need to haul a DSLR to get good pictures. Smartphone photography has come a long way, and it’s great to see a respected and renowned company like National Geographic prove that with Lumia devices.
