Microsoft’s Office And OneNote Apps Are Now Available On Amazon Fire Tablets

Microsoft is bringing its Office and OneNote apps to the Amazon Appstore for the company’s Fire tablets today. The two apps will join Outlook and OneDrive in Amazon’s Appstore, which replaces the Google Play Store on Amazon’s Android-based Fire tablets.

To be clear, Microsoft’s Office app is the new all-in-one hub that combines Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a single app. The more feature-complete versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for Android are not available on the Amazon Appstore for Fire tablets, though it should be possible for power users to sideload them.

Today’s announcement goes alongside the release of Amazon’s new Amazon Fire HD 10 or Fire HD 10 Plus tablets starting at $149. Amazon is also offering a Fire HD 10 productivity bundle starting at $219.99, which includes a Fire HD 10 or Fire HD 10 Plus tablet, a detachable keyboard case, and a 12-month subscription to Microsoft 365 Personal.

Amazon’s Fire tablets have been some of the cheapest Android tablets on the market for a while, though the built-in Amazon Appstore still doesn’t have the same amount of apps as the much more popular Google Play Store. If you want an Android tablet that can run all of Microsoft’s productivity solutions without any hacks, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
