Microsoft is collaborating with famous Brazilian skateboarder, Leticia Bufoni, in a special marketing campaign on both the official Skype Instagram account and via the Skype app itself. While celebrity take-overs (where a celebrity uses a brand’s account for a limited period of time) isn’t new for Instagram, using Skype in such a way is something that isn’t done too often and it will be interesting to see if it’s successful.

As part of the promotion, Leticia Bufoni will be chatting with fans via Skype in a private group chat on Tuesday February 23rd and Wednesday February 24th at 1pm PST. Those interested in participating need to add XGamesLeticia to their Skype contacts. Leticia will be chatting live from the X Games in Oslo. Fans curious to see Leticia’s photos from Oslo need only check out the official Skype Instagram account’s timeline which already has numerous photos taken by her uploaded.

Do you enjoy this sort of product marketing and would you like to see other celebrities collaborate with Microsoft in the future? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
