Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard gains support for Android 11 with latest app update

Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard updated to Version 7.5.9.3 on Android smartphones and tablets this week.

While most SwiftKey updates simply contain bug fixes and the addition of minor features, this latest one is rather important as it adds support for the Android 11 operating system. Android 11 is still in the beta testing period but there are a number of Android device owners that are part of this test and are likely wanting to use SwiftKey. It’s also a smart move to add support before the new OS rolls out to the general public.

Here’s the official release notes:

  • Good news for early adopters 💯 We’ve added support for Android 11 and accessibility improvements to ensure compatibility.
  • It’s now even easier to switch between different keyboard modes. Just tap the ‘Modes’ icon in your Toolbar to try it out.
  • Accidentally turning ‘Autocorrect’ off should now be a thing of the past.
  • We’ve fixed an issue that caused some letters not to be spoken properly in some text fields when TalkBack was on.
