The Microsoft Store is planning a series of free workshops starting next week to celebrate Women’s History Month. For students grade 3-12, Microsoft will have various virtual events featuring inspiring personalities such as Mikaila Ulmer, a young entrepreneur that signed an $11 million deal with Whole Foods when she was just 11 years old.
The company will also have various free workshops for women interested in starting their own business, find new opportunities, improve their LinkedIn profiles and learn other personal branding tips. There are also some workshops for educators, and the full list of virtual events can be found on this page.
Last month, Microsoft inaugurated its virtual Legacy Museum last for Black History Month, and the initiative will live on for Women’s History Month in March. A new wing featuring female change-makers and role models will be opened on International Women’s Day (March 8), and Microsoft tour guides will also offer virtual visits to students.
These are pretty challenging times for workers and students across the world, and Microsoft deserves credit for offering free and inspiring resources during Women’s History Month. Internally, the software giant also has Women at Microsoft employee resources group, which organizes executive speaking events, mentorships, leadership development and skill-sharing programs for employees.
