Microsoft India is today inaugurating Microsoft Openness Days, their first-ever open source conference for developers in India. During this two-day event, the company aims to help 1,000 architects, developers and cloud professionals to leverage the company’s Azure cloud platform for Government and enterprise solutions.
With support from the Government of Telangana, Microsoft is also introducing Open Hack, India’s first Open Source on Azure hackathon. During this six-hour long event, developers will be able to work on innovative applications based on the themes of the State Government’s digital initiatives. Following the hackathon, the top six apps and the teams will be selected by Microsoft and T-Hub for further development and to work on go-to-market strategy. The winners will also win exciting devices and other prizes.
While inaugurating the conference, Shri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Department for the Government of Telangana said:
“We are a firm supporter of technology to drive Telangana’s growth and development. We are very pleased to partner with Microsoft to host the Open Hack in our state. We are confident that the immense talent of our developer pool, combined with Microsoft’s technologies and expertise, can help achieve our digital goals and in turn, the welfare of our citizens.”
