Lumia 640 XL

Microsoft has announced their second new Lumia device today, the Lumia 640 XL. The device is a 5.7″ device available for 189 Euros for the 3G model and 219 Euros for the LTE variant.

The mid-range device features a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM, 13MP camera, a 720p HD screen, a 3000 mAh battery, and is just 9mm thick. This device will begin shipping to buyers with Windows Phone 8.1 and the Lumia Denim Update on-board, however much like the Lumia 640, the device will be upgrade-able to Windows 10.

Additionally, the Lumia 640 XL comes with a one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal, which includes the latest full installed versions of Office for the Lumia, as well as for one PC or Mac and one tablet (Windows, iPad or Android).  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote are all pre-installed on the device too.

The Lumia 640 and 640 XL are part of the first batch of Lumia’s from Microsoft to be “Windows 10 ready”, so early buyers should not be worried. Lumia 640 XL will be available in single SIM and Smart Dual SIM variants, with a global rollout starting this March. It will be priced at EUR 189 for the 3G models and EUR 219 for the LTE model, before taxes and subsidies.
