Microsoft makes OneNote in the classroom better and easier to manage

Microsoft has announced a new tool which works with OneNote to easier to use within classrooms. Educators can now create a new notebook for each of their student to use. Tools to view, annotate, and respond to student work are also built in. In addition, the OneNote Class Notebook Creator is free for any educator with Office 365.

OneNote is an excellent tool for education. Students and teachers can use OneNote to organize and accomplish school work. OneNote paired with a touch PC, and a PC supporting active digitizer is even better. Students can gather content from a range of sources and keep it sorted with OneNote — screen captures, video recordings, audio recordings, document printouts, text, and handwritten notes all work within OneNote.

Flexibility is core to OneNote and students can hand write over text, annotate drawings or pictures, and record their voice as a note. From there, the teacher can make notes about the work from their own PC or tablet. It is easy to collaborate and connect using OneNote with a group. More than one person can edit a page and share resources keep everyone on task.

OneNote class notebooks also offers a place where teachers can post information such as lecture slides, handouts, or quizzes. This enables a paperless classroom where all the information is shared digitally. Students would have access to the shared content when they go home so there is no excuse for forgotten homework.

Here is a video from Microsoft which shows some teachers talking about how they have used OneNote in their classrooms.
