Microsoft has been rumored to be making a smartwatch for sometime now, and 2014 looks like the year in which all the major tech companies launch their attempts at wearable computing. Google has already started, with the Moto 360 and LG G watch. Microsoft is said to also be jumping aboard the wearable computing bandwagon this year, so it’s time to get excited.
According to Toms Hardware, Microsoft is looking to get its idea of a smartwatch out by October of this year. That’s about 4 months away, which isn’t too long. The device is rumored to include 11 sensors and have up to 2 days of battery life.
The device will also monitor your heart rate, and hook up to any mobile platform, meaning it will work on iOS and Android, not just Windows Phone. This is good, as Microsoft is still a software company. According to the source, the device screen is on the inside of the wrist instead of the outside, which is said to feel a lot more natural when checking the time.
