Microsoft Edge Canary testers can add new Desktop Sharing Hub in the toolbar – OnMSFT.com

Microsoft has started testing a new Desktop Sharing Hub menu that should make it easier for users to share web pages. The experimental feature was spotted by Reddit user u/Leopeva64-2, and it is now live in the latest Microsoft Edge Canary build (92.0.900.0).

The new Sharing experience essentially groups all sharing options under one menu, and it is accessible right from the address bar. It can be enabled via a flag and allows users to save a webpage, generate a QR code, cast it to another device, copy a link to the clipboard, or share it to another device signed in with the same Microsoft account. The feature is already available in Google Chrome.

To try out the new desktop Sharing Hub feature, head to the Edge://flags page and enable the “Desktop Sharing Hub in Omnibox” flag. Once enabled, users will see a new icon on the right side of the toolbar. They will simply need to click on the icon to access the available options for sharing a web page, including Send page to your devices, QR code, Cast, and more. There is also a “Save page as” option if the user wants to save a page as a static document.

The new addition should be a helpful tool for Edge users, especially for people who often find themselves sharing links with others. However, this is still a work in progress, so it’ll take a while until it makes its way to the Stable version of Microsoft Edge. The company is also testing a new Math Solver feature, which is now generally available in the Edge Insider channels.
