More drama with the Windows Phone update process as new problems have surfaced and are preventing some Windows Phone 7 users from getting two important software updates.

As ComputerWorld reports, Microsoft faces some new problems as it attempts to deliver two important softare updates for its Windows Phone 7 handsets. “They’re looking into the situation, but I’m afraid there’s not much to report yet.”

Microsoft acknowledged that some Samsung Focus owners as well as Omnia 7 owners haven’t yet received notification that the updates are available for them. For the Omnia 7 update issue, Microsoft responded by saying, “The team discovered a technical issue with the update package for this model. The work of fixing and testing the package is nearly done, and the team hopes to resume update deliveries soon.”

One of the important updates was designed to make the update process easier and smoother. Unfortunately, Microsoft had to pull that update because it bricked a select few Samsung phones. The other important update, codenamed NoDo, is set to bring several new improvements for Windows Phone 7 users. Users will now be able to experience copy and paste features, faster start and resume times for apps, improved category search in Marketplace, and various performance tune ups.

Recently, a new resource surfaced allowing users to track the progress of their handset’s next available update. Microsoft also responded to mass criticism of these update problems. No word on when the Samsung Focus or the Omnia 7 will see any fixes to allow these updates to take place.
