Today, Microsoft is announcing a new product, the Microsoft Supply Chain Platform. It is designed to assist organizations to optimize their supply chain data with an open approach while leveraging Microsoft’s AI technology, collaboration, low-code, security, and Saas applications.

Microsoft is also launching Microsoft Supply Chain Centre in preview, a ready-made command center for supply chain visibility and transformation, It is also part of Microsoft’s Supply Chain Platform. The Centre’s core goal is to “work natively with an organization’s supply chain data and applications, with in-built collaboration, supply and demand insights, and order management”.

According to Charles Lamanna, the corporate vice president at Microsoft Business Applications and Platform:

Supply chain agility and resilience are directly tied to how well organizations connect and orchestrate their data across all relevant systems. The Microsoft Supply Chain platform and Supply Chain Center enable organizations to make the most of their existing investments to gain insights and act quickly.

This announcement means that customers can fully utilize Microsoft Cloud for their supply chain. “The Microsoft Supply Chain Platform provides the building blocks across Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Teams, and Power Platform for customers to develop or independently adopt capabilities for their supply chain needs”.

Through Dataverse, users make use of it to create connectors which will in turn help them “gain visibility across the supply chain, develop custom workflows with low-code solutions in Power Platform, and securely collaborate internally and externally through the power of Teams”. All these factored in, organizations get to tap into a wider audience, ultimately enhancing their insights. What’s more, it also minimizes the carbon impact of their organization and supply chain.

Microsoft Supply Chain Platform will work closely with the Microsoft partner ecosystem with the aim of enabling customer supply chain resiliency and agility. This way, their combined efforts will allow them to “bring their industry and domain expertise to create integrated solutions leveraging Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Teams, and Power Platform”.

If you are already part Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, you will automatically gain access to Supply Chain Center. The Supply Chain Center unpacks a ton of modules designed to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, among them are the order management module, supply and demand insights module, and partner modules.
