Lync app for Windows Store gets an update, adds several new features

While Microsoft continues to push Skype as your communication platform, Lync remains strong in the business world, where it is utilized for chat and phone calls. Many companies use the service as the primary way for employees to meet, even when located across vast distances.

The latest update allows you to manage meetings either individually or as an entire group. This means you can do such things as mute someone, send a private message and even promote or demote one of the participants.

New controls have been added to the bottom of the screen, a “meet now” feature allows for a quick setup when something important comes up suddenly, pinning of a meeting to Start screen has been enabled, and various functionality improvements have been made to the app.

“We are proud to bring you this new version of Lync and are excited to continue adding features, improve performance and make the app even better”, the Lync Team announces. The company also requests feedback to help further improve the app in future updates.
