For those of you who eager to install the Windows 10 Technical Preview and are without any spare DVD’s or DVD drives, don’t worry as we’ve got you covered here at WinBeta. If you’ve got yourself a spare USB drive nearby, you can use that to install the Windows 10 Technical Preview, and we’ve written this handy guide to show you how to do that.

We’re going to be searching for an easy-to-use program called the “Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool.” Ignore the name of the tool for the minute as the tool works for the Windows 10 Technical Preview no matter what operating system you’re using. Click here to download the tool.
Once downloaded, install the program and run it. You’ll be asked to select a source file, which is the Windows 10 Technical Preview ISO that you should have downloaded. Once selected, it’ll ask you whether you’ll be using a USB device or DVD, select USB.
Make sure your USB drive is connected, and then select the USB drive from the dropdown list. Make sure you don’t have anything you want to keep on the USB drive, as the tool will format everything on it to mount the ISO.
Once erased, the tool will begin copying the files from the ISO to the USB. This can take some time depending on your system, so don’t worry if it takes a little while. Once completed you’ll have a USB drive ready to install Windows 10 from.
