LG’s new Windows Phone is all but officially confirmed. Last year we heard that the OEM was making a comeback to Windows Phone, and last month, we saw a leaked image of the actual device. Now, images of the official brochure of the device have made it onto the interwebs.
Windows Central managed to obtain the only brochure, and has posted images from/of it that reveal more details of the LG VW820. For starters, we know now that the Verizon-bound device will be called the LG Lancet, and contrary to what we heard earlier, the device will come with a 4.5” display instead of a 4.7” one. The resolution remains 854×480. Powering the device is a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410, and users will have 4 of the 8GB of storage to actually use. There will be an 8MP camera on the back, a standard front facing camera, and a 2100mAh battery. It will of course support Verizon’s LTE network.
On the software side of things, the phone will be running Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2, and LG has even opted to bring some of its Android features over as well. Users can take advantage of the Knock On feature, a fancy name for double-tap-to-wake, Gesture Shot to take pictures using hand motions, and Soft Light, which uses the screen to subtly light up your face for low-light selfies.
There’s still no news on pricing and availability, but judging by all the leaks we’re seeing lately, we’d say launch is just about imminent and the specs list confirm it is a low-end end device and will likely be priced accordingly and competitively. We’ll update you on when the LG Lancet becomes official and the solid details on pricing when it’s available, so stay tuned for more.
