Lenovo offers 6-months of McAfee to consumers who purchased Superfish PCs

Lenovo is offering a 6-month McAfee subscription to consumers who may have purchased systems preloaded with ‘Superfish’. For those unaware, Lenovo was recently caught preloading a dangerous piece of adware, known as Superfish, onto customer machines; the adware was able to intercept HTTP and HTTPS communications to help serve up advertisements (Lenovo called them ‘helpful recommendations’).

Whether or not the public will trust Lenovo again will only be seen in time, but for now, the company is trying all it can to protect its public image. Lenovo recently announced they  would include less preloaded software on their computers, along with a stricter reviewing process.

For consumers who are interested in checking out Lenovo’s McAfee offering, you can visit the link below starting March 16, 2015; Intel Security will run the program. Users must have one of the following eligible consumer notebooks to accept the offer:

G Series: G410, G510, G710, G40-70, G50-70, G40-30, G50-30, G40-45, G50-45
