It’s February, and everybody has twitchy fingers ready for the imminent launch of the Windows 10 for phones preview. Microsoft first showed off Windows 10 for phones during the company’s Windows 10 event last month, and while we did see the OS in action, we didn’t see new Live Tile sizes, until today.
A tweet from a Microsoft employee aimed to show the diversity of devices that Windows 10 can run on inadvertently gave us a look at a new Live Tile on the Start Screen; it’s wide and vertical. The tweet has since been deleted after the story broke.
We learned that Microsoft has been working on new Live Tiles back in April last year, experimenting with different tile sizes and making them interactive and actionable. This makes it even easier for users to get things done without having to dive into the app. While there has been no indication of interactive Live Tiles on Windows 10 so far, the new tile sizes might be a stepping stone to that possibility.
