Is a Windows 10 April Update launch coming Tuesday (tomorrow)? onmsft.com

Late Friday, Microsoft moved the latest Windows 10 Insider build, 17134, to the Slow and Release Preview rings, pushing the build through the hoops to get it ready for release. The original “RTM” build, 17133, contained a possible “blue-screen” blocking bug that delayed the expected release of the “final” Redstone 4 version.

That bug has been fixed in 17134 (although some other, perhaps not quite as significant, bugs still exist), and by moving the build to the Slow and Release Preview rings, a Tuesday announcement for a Windows 10 April Update rollout sets up nicely.

While we promise we’re not quoting him, some Windows pundits have been hearing that the Tuesday launch is imminent:

It looks like another Windows 10 Insider journey is about to end, and soon we’ll be on to (if you’re not already, via Skip Ahead) RS5, and then possibly some significant changes to both how Windows Insider builds are named, and how Windows itself is built. We should hear more about the latter at Build in just a few weeks, stay tuned of course to onmsft.com as we’ll be there to bring you all the latest.
