Ios versions of skype updated with two-way hd calls

Skype for both iPhone and iPad has been updated, adding support for two-way HD video calling on the iPad Air, iPad Mini with Retina display and the iPhone 5s. There are few other changes, but those that have been made are important. Now it does not matter if you have Skype closed, as chat messages will still be received.

The only other change sees the introduction of faster message synchronization between devices, so you’ll have less of a wait to see the same content on your phone and tablet.

Oddly, both version of the app have now reached the same number — so we have Skype for iPhone 4.17 and Skype for iPad 4.17. Because the versions are now in synch, the changelogs are virtually identical:

  • Two-way HD video calls are now supported on the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display.
  • Two-way HD video calls are now supported on the iPhone 5S.
  • Receive chat messages even when Skype is closed.
  • Chat messages now sync much faster across all your devices.

Grab yourself copies of the latest versions of the app using the link below!
