New updates for OneNote users will be available in the coming weeks for Windows 10, Mac and the web. The new features list for OneNote will streamline the Mac, Windows 10 and Online versions and bring them more in line with the way OneNote 2016 functions. In addition, the new OneNote update should sync better with OneDrive as Sync gets upgraded and streamlined. According to a new post on the Office 365 blog, OneNote users can look forward to:

  • Cloud attachments in Windows 10
  • Tag search in Windows 10
  • Emoji keyboard in OneNote Online
  • Insert pictures from Camera in OneNote Online
  • Customizable autocorrect in OneNote Online
  • Copy and share link to a section in OneNote Online

Cloud attachments

Cloud attachments allow you to make changes on the fly without having to reattach the file. In short, when a friend or co-worker updates the file, you don’t have to change it. Simply just choose Insert>File – attach cloud attachment and it will upload it to OneDrive for you, then you can share the file with friends.

Tag search

Add tags throughout your pages for easy search and discovery later, just like you would on your physical binder with your thumb. It’s very easy, just click the magnifying glass next to the notebook name in the left-hand navigation pane and type in the tag name and it will show a list of tags from all over OneNote

Emoji Keyboard

Emoji keyboard is a great addition online as it now allows easy picking of emoji to insert into notes. Click Insert > Emoji to see samples of available emojis

Insert Pictures from Camera

Insert Pictures from a camera is a great addition for online users. Take Selfies at Home, pictures of the Cat, Dog, Fish, or grab a quick pick of your latest restaurant meal for cooking ideas later.  To do this click insert > camera to select camera mode, then click allow in your browser.

Customizable auto correct

Customize your auto correct to include emoji inserts. Turning your semicolon smiles into emojis the easy way with the text to emoji autocorrect feature, and make use of those punctuation skills. To access them go to Home > Spelling > Autocorrect Options and choose what you need to autocorrect.

Copy and share link to section

Copy and Share a link to a section by easily creating an index menu for all your different sections Online. Right-click on a section you would like to share and click copy link to section then right-click anywhere in another page and click paste.

So there we have it, some more features added to OneNote Windows 10, Mac and the web. Join us next month for more and let us know in the comments what you think the OneNote team may have missed this month in its features release? Also, let your voice be heard using the Feedback Hub.
