Starting tomorrow, September 14th Xbox Live Gold will become Xbox Game Pass Core. Microsoft announced this change a while back and stated that the new, slightly cheaper Game Pass tier would include at least 25 games in its catalog.

Xbox Live Gold members will see their memberships automatically transitioned to Game Pass Core subscriptions.
Game Pass Core will retain the online multiplayer access of Xbox Live Gold in addition to the same member deals and discounts. Core members will have access to Xbox Free Play Days games. The monthly Games with Gold perk is a thing of the past, however.
The new tier keeps the $9.99 per month price. See here to learn more about Game Pass Core.
