The Dead Island 2 official launch trailer has gone live, with the game (at last) releasing later this week on April 21. In case you don’t already know, Dead Island 2 will be spectacularly gory, as seen in the trailer.
Set in a zombie-infested Los Angeles, Dead Island 2 will see players taking on ravenous undead hordes in gorgeously rendered areas like Bel Air and Beverly Hills. As stated in the trailer, “out there” gamers will have to be “a mechanic, a medic, and Jackie f***ing Chan rolled into one.” As we reported last week, a few players were able to somehow score a copy of the game early; sketchiness aside, reports are that the game rocks.
The launch trailer comes 9 years after Dead Island 2 was first announced. The game has been through a long and winding development cycle, having been delayed several times and tossed around to multiple developers. Fans of the 2011 cult classic original are no doubt chomping at the bit to get their hands on this sequel. The good news is that everything indicates the game will be worth the wait.
