Lately, we’ve seen tech firms like Microsoft and Google warm up to AI, and even deeply integrate the technology across their products and services.
Microsoft has already injected OpenAI’s artificial intelligence-powered platform ChatGPT into Bing Search and its Edge browser, while Google has debuted its AI-infused chatbot, Bard that’s currently in limited preview for testing.
Both companies continue to make enhancements as well as updates to ensure that they are providing users with a great experience despite facing several setbacks.
Regardless, it seems AI is here to stay as even more companies are joining the bandwagon and integrating it across their products and services. Salesforce is now the latest company to join the fray and has partnered up with OpenAI to debut a new app for its instant messaging program, Slack dubbed ChatGPT app for Slack.

This new app opens up a host of new and nifty capabilities for Slack users. First up, is the added capability that lets users draft messages and summarizes conversations and threads.
What’s more, once you have the entry installed, you can click on the three-dots icon in a thread and select either the summarize thread or draft reply option, then the app will generate the reply or summary automatically for you.
At the moment, it’s not yet clear how detailed or accurate the responses will be. Microsoft has had its fair share of issues on that front. Additionally, the app will also be able to deliver answers and insights on various projects and topics by leveraging its AI-powered research tools.
The ChatGPT app for Slack is currently in beta testing, therefore, it’s not available for download to everyone just yet. However, if you want to get your hands on the app for your organization before it hits general availability, you can join the waitlist for the beta version.
In related news, Salesforce has also announced the launch of Einstein. The company refers to it as “the world’s first generative AI CRM technology”. It is designed to provide AI-generated content across every sales, service, marketing, commerce, and IT interaction at a greater scale.
