Starting next month, students in the US, Canada and Porto Rico will be able to participate to free YouthSpark Summer Camps to learn coding, movie making and other digital skills. Camps will be available at Microsoft Store locations and will welcome students ages 8 and up, though the sessions will also be opened to siblings, parents and teachers.

“These summer camps provide real-world opportunities for students looking to translate their passions and 21st century skills into something tangible for their communities and futures,” Microsoft explained on its Education blog today. Activities will include learning code with Minecraft, programming an expressive robot and making movies with 3D and Mixed Reality.

Summer camps will be available from May through June, and you can register online or at your local Microsoft Store. The company notes that it’s also offering five new Summer Camp curriculums this year, including a first philanthropy camp to help students develop solutions for local issues they care about.
