Virtual reality company Oculus announces native apps for Windows Phone

This weekend, Facebook-owned virtual reality company Oculus announced its next VR headset, Crescent Bay. At the sidelines of the event, the company also announced that native apps for this virtual reality headset will be coming to Microsoft’s Windows Phone, among other popular mobile operating systems.

Unfortunately though, that is all the information the company provided at its developer conference Oculus Connect. But we are really excited about Windows Phone’s involvement in the virtual reality space.

The company says that while its headset is still not a consumer product, it is very close to it. The new VR features 360-degree head tracking, updated display, in-built audio, and several more features.

Over the past few months, several companies including Google, and Samsung have forayed into this space. Do you think Microsoft should do something as well?
