VideoLAN shows off VLC running on Windows RT, is expected to arrive on Windows Phone soon

We’ve heard it over and over. VLC for Windows Phone and Windows RT is coming soon. Earlier today, VideoLAN tweeted a picture showcasing VLC running on Windows RT — more specifically, the Surface 2. So what does this mean? VideoLAN is finally making some progress in developing the VLC app for ARM-based devices.

No concrete release date was mentioned, and we all know how long it took to get the VLC app for Windows 8. We learned back in August that the Windows Phone app was delayed, as VideoLAN works on various issues as well as making the app universal.
