Swedish Carrier Telia Offers One Month Of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate To Its Customers – onmsft.com

Microsoft and Telia, a Swedish multinational telecommunication company, have teamed up to provide gamers with a stirring exclusive Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offer. According to the announcement (via Windows Central), current Telia customers qualify to get a one-month free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which will give them access to over 100 Xbox gaming titles.

Existing consumers who take advantage of the free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will be able to access the bundled games using their Android devices, PCs with Windows 10, and Xbox consoles. The offer will also apply to new customers opting for Android smartphones, and the Swedish carrier will also offer them a free Razer Kishi universal gaming controller that can handily replace a regular Xbox Wireless Controller.

Telia’s Chief Commercial Officer in Sweden, Henrik Lönnevi, adds that the latest alliance will help his firm showcase its cutting-edge high-speed 4G and 5G network capabilities to the gamer demographic. According to the exec, the integration of the company technologies will allow users to enjoy an immersive and surreal cloud-gaming experience that eliminates the need to rely on dedicated hardware.

Microsoft previously teamed up with T-Mobile in the US, Vodafone in the UK, and SK-Telecom in South Korea during the Project xCloud beta test that kicked off in October 2019. These three carriers have also been rolling out their own 5G networks, and these partnerships have really helped Microsoft to optimize its Xbox Cloud Gaming technology for mobile devices.

If Telia is now the first European carrier to offer a free Xbox Game Pass subscription to its customers, it will be interesting to see if Microsoft will try to strike similar deals with other carriers across the world in the near future. In addition to mobile devices, Xbox head Phil Spencer repeatedly said that he wanted to bring Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming to more devices including PCs and TVs.
