Moovit Is An Excellent Windows Phone App For Those Of You Who Use Public Transit – onmsft.com

If you happen to be Windows Phone user who commutes to work, or use public transit for traveling purposes, you must take a look at this excellent Windows Phone app known as Moovit. The app is there to help you commute in a smarter way, giving you the ability to check train schedules, real-time arrival timings, and much more.

The app let users check nearby stations, and compare alternate routes to their destination so that you can find out if the station you’re using is busy or which route will get you to your destination in a shorter time. Additionally, it also give users with real-time updates via push notifications about the lines you use on a regular basis. The app says it supports more than 300 cities, as well as 20 different languages.

“Moovit is everything you need to ride public transit smarter. Choose the fastest, least crowded route, every time based on real time data. Check schedules, real time arrivals and receive service alerts. Best of all, it’s free and powered by the crowd,” the app description reads.

Here’s a list of features the app has to offer:

  • Live arrivals: Click a nearby station on the map, or search for a specific line
  • Trip planner: Compare between alternate routes to your destination
  • Real time service alerts / advisories: Receive real time updates with push notifications on the lines you use frequently
  • Static transport system maps for NY, LA, SF, Boston, Chicago, Miami and other popular train / subway / tram systems (a PDF viewer is required).
