Angry Birds 2 to hit the Windows Store alongside other app stores on July 30th

Angry Birds is not a new game when it comes to mobile gaming; it’s possibly one of the best mobile games available at the moment with over three billion downloads to date. It all started back in 2009 when Rovio announced Angry Birds for mobile platforms. Now the franchise has several spin-offs and other titles for the game, along with a huge merchandising products, backpacks, and what not — it’s everywhere you go.

The company has now announced that they are working on a sequel of the insanely popular game, the Angry Birds 2. There are no details available about the game, but the game should be similar to the current game, shooting angry birds at the pigs via slingshot.

“With 3 billion game downloads, millions of fans across the globe, multiple mashups and spin-offs, collaborations with A-list celebrities and much more, we’re really proud that Angry Birds is the mother of all mobile game apps. And now we’re proud to announce the mother of all sequels – Angry Birds 2,” said Rovio in a blog post.

The company said the game will hit app stores on July 30th worldwide.
