American Airlines grounds their Windows Phone app - no longer available

\

It appears that another company has left the Windows Phone party, and this time, it is American Airlines. The company, which has been continuously updating their Windows Phone app has seemingly decided to pull it. Windows Phone users will now have to manage their American Airlines flights without the help of a nifty app.

A reader from Windows Central, reached out to the corporate transportation giant querying about the recent disappearance; he was told that American Airlines is no longer supporting the Windows Phone platform.

\

The move is quite sudden, as the company has kept up to date with their application. In fact, they had recently added support, so users could add their boarding passes to the Wallet app on Windows Phone. Attempting to grab the application from the store displays the standard “this app is no longer published” message.

\

It seems like Windows Phone cannot get a break with its app ecosystem, one day we are receiving news about the arrival of an official DropBox app, and the next we are losing other companies.
