The Amazing Spiderman

The Amazing Spiderman received its fair share of success on different mobile platforms, including Windows Phone. Now, the developer Gameloft has announced the sequel of the popular game dubbed as the Amazing Spiderman 2, which will launch in April later this year. The game will also make its way to iOS and Android at the same time. This comes as a surprising news as a popular title is heading to all three major mobile platforms at the same time.

The game follows an action-packed adventure, with characters from the original Sony Pictures movie, The Amazing Spiderman 2, which will hit the theaters in April as well. The game will see non-stop action where Spiderman has to save New York City from the super villains Electro and the Green Goblin, and will follow the storyline of the original film as well. There’s no word from Gameloft if there will be Xbox Live integration for the Amazing Spiderman 2, but we’re hoping it will.

“After the tremendous success of the first The Amazing Spider-Man mobile game, we’re excited to be working with Marvel again to bring the fan-favorite hero back onto smartphones with The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Players will enjoy a deep open-world adventure and iconic web-spinning action that makes Spider-Man so extraordinary,” says Gameloft’s Karine Kaiser.

The game is also claimed to provide a better, in-depth gaming experience on mobile devices compared to its predecessor. According to Javon Frazier, VP of Games Marketing at Marvel, “We are excited to continue our relationship with Gameloft in releasing best-in-class mobile games. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 mobile game delivers a more in-depth gaming experience than its already successful predecessor, which is sure to captivate fans of the theatrical franchise.”

The Amazing Spiderman 2 is set to launch in theaters on May 2nd in the United States, so this will give this game a little bit of extra time for players to get some sneak peaks at the story. The folks at Gameloft didn’t mentioned anything about its pricing, but it should come with a similar price tag as its predecessor, that is, $6.99.
