HoloLens 2 Is Now Available To Purchase In The US Microsoft Store – onmsft.com

Starting this week, Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 mixed reality headset is now available to purchase directly from the Microsoft Store (via Windows Central). The headset is currently priced at $3,500, and the box ships with a couple of commodities including a carrying case, overhead strap, microfiber cloth, charger, USB-C cable, and the HoloLens 2 device itself.

At Build 2020, Microsoft announced its plans to expand its HoloLens 2 to more countries later this year. HoloLens 2 will be available in 15 new regions in Fall 2020 including Spain, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, and Taiwan.

Since launch, HoloLens 2 has been targeting developers and enterprise customers, and the headset coming to Microsoft Store won’t really change that. At $3,500, HoloLens 2 remains way too expensive for consumers, and it also still lacks apps and games that could appeal to everyone.

Nearly a year since its launch, Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 still has no real competition on the market, but this could change soon. Apple, which will hold its annual developer conference later this month, is rumored to be working on its own AR Glasses that could be released as soon as next year.
